• loads of earth shifting to fill in gaps in the back garden

• levelling both gardens ready for laying of a weed suppressing membrane

• new smaller borders at the front of the garden

• gravel and rocks at the front to minimise gardening

Mercy Ships Breakfast 9.30 – 11am (last order), close at 12noon, served by the Young People.

Imagine a ship crewed by doctors, nurses, water engineers and agriculturalists visiting some of the world’s poorest countries. Now imagine their life-changing services offered free of charge, motivated by their Christian faith - this is Mercy Ships.

Friday 11th: 9.30am –  4.30 & 7.00 – 8.30pm (local schools to visit up to 3.30pm)

Saturday 12th: 9.30 – 12.30pm       Refreshments available

• TRACE the transmission of the text from the earliest fragments to the printed copies – monks cell where they were copied.
• SEE scale model of David’s battle with Goliath and Solomon’s Temple.
• EGYPT, THE MIDDLE EAST AND PERSIA. Exhibits from these places which have a link to the Bible.
• THE COINS used in the New Testament times, each with a story to tell.
• THE FOOD they ate in Jesus’ day and what they used for eating and drinking.
• COSMETICS AND JEWELLERY. Try on some of the things ladies would have worn. Learn about personal hygiene in Jesus’ time.
• THE ARMY IN JESUS’ DAY. Ideas that the Christians borrowed from the Roman Army.
• GAMES AND PASTIMES
• MODELS OF HOMES of various types as used in Jesus’ day.
• ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERIES that have a link to the Bible. This includes some recent ones not widely available elsewhere.
• SECRET SIGNS OF THE CHRISTIANS and their earliest places of worship
• THE REV. MIKE SMITH present to answer questions, tell tales and help in understanding the background and message of the Bible. No subject off limits!!
