Lockwood Baptist is the people – The Church
We are Christians who worship God in Lockwood and seek to serve the community by our prayers, actions and sharing the love and message of Jesus Christ. We are part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (see the page Who We Are and What We Believe).
Lockwood Baptist Church has a leadership team, usually consisting of a minister and up to ten deacons. All decisions and recommendations made by deacons have to be discussed and approved by the church membership as a whole.
At present we have no a minister due to our last one, Rev. Ian Inglis, taking up a position of chaplain in a hospital in Stockport in January. We are in the process of seeking a new minister and have a moderator at present who leads our meetings and preaches once a month.
