RELAX 252 ( was RENEW 252)
a quiet shared space

where it’s OK not to be OK – nominated for a Kirklees award

Our drop in centre is where all are valued and no one is labelled and are known by their names.

  • It is a place where you can sit and relax on comfy seats and enjoy free cups of tea or coffee and cake or biscuits. A place to make friends.
  • It is a place where it is understood that we are all on a sliding scale of mental wellbeing and where it is possible to access help from the Council’s mental health team without referral.
  • It is a place where adults of any faith and none are welcome to belong, to reduce social isolation and deal with the causes of mental and emotional ill health.
  • There is a quiet room which anyone may use for meditation or prayer or even play the piano in there quietly ( when it is not being used for meditation) or just sit there away from other people if you wish.
  • We know that many people are lonely, due to various reasons. We are a safe environment where you can get to know other people.
  • It is a place where people may encounter God’s love.

Why the name RENEW 252?
RENEW – because we hope to enable people to find renewal of their mental health by being in a safe space, where they can feel accepted for who they are and be surrounded by caring people and make new friends.
252 – the street number of Lockwood Baptist Church.
