Some of the comments about

RENEW 252
a quiet shared space

where it’s OK not to be OK

Our new drop in centre is where all are valued and no one is labelled and are known by their names.

  • It is a place where you can sit and relax on comfy seats and help yourself to free cups of tea or coffee and cake or biscuits. If you like to play board games there is a selection to choose from. Anyone can suggest an activity, share a hobby, learn a new skill, make friends and be signposted to any help they need.
  • It is a place where it is understood that we are all on a sliding scale of mental wellbeing and where it is possible to access help from the Council’s mental health team without referral.
  • It is a place where adults of any faith and none are welcome to belong, to reduce social isolation and deal with the causes of mental and emotional ill health.
  • There is a quiet room which anyone may use for meditation or prayer or even play the piano in there quietly ( when it is not being used for meditation).
  • It is a place where people may encounter God’s love.

Why the name RENEW 252?
RENEW – because we hope to enable people to find renewal of their mental health by being in a safe space, where they can feel accepted for who they are and be surrounded by caring people and make new friends.
252 – the street number of Lockwood Baptist Church.
